Ann, an interior designer, and Tom, a general contractor, are a couple passionate about all things design, camping, dogs, and wine. They’re also professional RV renovators that focus on creating spaces as beautiful as they are functional.

Today we’re taking a peek inside their latest remodel, a modern travel trailer (which is already sold) that has a neutral interior, beautiful details, and custom upgrades.

Did you draw inspiration from anything specific for this travel trailer renovation?

Not in particular but the colors are on the beachy side with greyed-out blues, grey tones, bright white, and light natural wood tones and textures.

How would you describe your decorating style?

I enjoy working with a combination of styles to create something unique that will flow and function naturally in the space I work within. My designs tend to be clean, modern, functional, and uncluttered in nature-inspired color palettes. Being Swedish, I do have a love for Scandinavian style and lines.

What are your favorite places to shop for décor?

For decor and accessories I mostly shop at our local HomeGoods and Marshalls but I also like IKEA and Target. We use Amazon, Lowes, Home Depot and Benjamin Moore for reno materials.

What’s your favorite aspect of interior design?

I love a good challenge and the creative process of taking a space and completely changing the feel of that space. It is something very rewarding to take something from concept to completion as well as see the buyer or owner’s face when they see their space for the first time.

What kind of projects did this renovation entail?

We gave this RV a full renovation, from gutting and replacing everything in the bathroom to revamping and reconfigure cabinetry, and use of the living area. The entertainment center we changed the look pretty drastically by adding a fireplace and custom cabinetry, one of my favorite parts of this renovation is the privacy doors on the sides of the entertainment center that we added a white oak detail to.

What project made the most difference?

The lighter colors and the reconfigured dinette that opened up the space along with the Carrerra Marble look Wilsonart countertops and backsplash. It is hard to pinpoint exactly what changed the look the most, but it now has a vacation feel when you walk in, before we started it just felt dreary.

What do you love most about this modern travel trailer renovation?

The inviting lightness, openness, and versatile use of the bunk house space and also that we used materials that are washable, like BM Scuff-X Paint, and durable. The electric bunks are such a cool feature in a travel trailer, giving it a small garage use area like in a toy hauler.

What’s the most meaningful item you incorporated?

Not especially meaningful but the story of the bedroom privacy doors is kinda fun. Initially, we had discussed doing a more intricate inlay design for the doors, but when we came to that point I felt like that would have been overkill. Tom had been looking forward to fabricating the doors and was a bit disappointed about not doing the original design. Once he started fabricating them and saw the cool simplicity of the design come together he was 100% onboard and I think he ended up loving them even more than I do.

where is your dream vacation?

At the moment for me, Ann, it’s a trip back home to Sweden to see family and friends since it’s been a while. I also can’t wait to bring my dad to the US and for us to take him on a long road trip with our RV, he is in his 80s and love nature, hiking and BBQing. That would be such a great experience to have.

What piece of advice would you give someone about to start an RV renovation?

Take your time and do your research, it is a super fun process but can be stressful if you start to take things out and then don’t have a plan for how to put things back together again. Also, set a budget, and don’t underestimate the amount of work involved.

do you take on clients for custom work or consultations?

We do, but at the moment we are fully booked.
