about this RV renovation
Type of RV: 2018 Coachmen Chaparral
Renovated for a client by: @gritandgraceinteriorstyling
Timeline: Roughly 2 months (working weekends and a few late evenings)
Wendy and her husband, Steve, are the proud owners of this fantastic RV renovation transformed by Renee and Nikki of Grit and Grace Interior Styling.
Wendy knew she wanted their fifth wheel interior to feel light and bright with some fun mixed in, and Renee and Nikki certainly delivered. In fact, the design of this RV renovation was inspired by a pink velvet couch Wendy picked out. This couple, who originally planned to use this RV for traveling, were so impressed with the transformation of their RV that they decided to sell their home and move in full-time instead!

Did you draw inspiration from anything specific for this fifth wheel renovation?
One of the business partners of Grit and Grace renovated her personal RV and we had a client reach out requesting our services. We absolutely love renovating RV’s and creating beautiful traveling homes!
Was this renovation inspired by anything or anyone specific?
Our clients selection of a pink velvet couch was the inspiration for the design. Our goal is to match the design esthetics to our clients vision and we add the finishing touches to make it home!
How would you describe your decorating style?
We love neutrals, and organic looks, however, our goal is to match the design to what our clients are looking for.
What’s your favorite aspect of interior design?
Bringing all the pieces together to create a final look that our clients absolutely love! The reaction of our clients is by far the best part of what we do!
What are your favorite places to source products and decor?
We love to source our local shops, however, we never pass up a good deal from Homegoods Amazon, Wayfair, or World Market.
Bloom in Lincolnton, NC has some great one-of-a-kind things!
“Originally we had bought the camper for travel. Nikki and Renee did such a fabulous job, that we decided to sell our home and live in our RV. We have not regretted our decision. We still love to walk in here each day. We feel at home here.”
– Wendy Christopher (Client/RV owner)
What’s the most meaningful or splurge-worthy item you incorporated into the RV interior?
We would have to say the walk-in closet! We converted a bedroom into a dressing area/walk-in closet, knowing that our clients were going to be using the RV on long trips.
What was most challenging about this renovation?
Hand painting everything, from walls, ceilings, cabinets, and trim!
What project made the most difference?
Painting and all the little details that could be overlooked. It’s important to pay attention to the details to customize the space for our clients. The pictures you ‘steal’ off social media and create a personalized gallery wall go a long way!
What piece of advice would you give someone about to start an RV renovation?
Hire Grit and Grace Interior Styling!! Lol! It is a lot of work, so it’s important to have help and a vision.
do you take on clients for custom work or consultations?
Yes, and yes. We don’t just do traveling homes, we also design spaces in your primary home or business as well!
