about this RV renovation
Type of RV: 2012 Catalina Coachmen Travel Trailer
Renovated by: @kaseymgiles / Timeline: A few months / Budget: $1000-$1500
In 2021, Kasey and her husband sold their home and moved into a travel trailer with their two small children, with plans to travel while deciding on their next move. During that time, they transformed the camper into a cozy home on wheels filled with homey, boho vibes.
The interior of this RV is inspiring, and so is the family’s story. Not only did they create incredible memories with their kids during their time on the road, but they even welcomed their son in a beautiful and natural RV home birth!
They plan to keep their camper for future camping trips, but have since moved into Kasey’s childhood home, which she helped her family build when she was 10. They’re enjoying the land with plans for learning to be more self-sufficient, including growing a garden and adding farm animals.

What inspired you to experience RV Life?
We just thought it would be a fun adventure!
In 2021, my husband and I decided to sell our home and buy an RV while we determined what our next step would be. We renovated it in the hopes of making it feel more homey and personal to us. We moved in with our two young children and lived the full-time RV life for almost a year. By the time we moved out, we had added another family member, and even chose to do a homebirth in our RV. We are so grateful for our year spent in our RV. It taught us to prioritize and minimize.

“Born safely at home on the morning of his due date – Sept 3rd, at 8lbs and 21 1/2 inches long. He made his arrival in the birthing pool after a short 4 hour labor. We’re so thankful for a safe delivery and a perfect, healthy baby boy. We are absolutely in love.”
