about this RV renovation
Type of RV: 1991 Sun Chaser Travel Trailer
Renovated by: @tomazcoasttocoast / Timeline: 5 weeks
Today we’re taking a peek inside a camper remodel with some creative DIY projects, including a custom river table (which is gorgeous!) and DIY epoxy shower with matching vanity top. Not only are these projects a major upgrade for this tiny travel trailer, but they show it’s possible to achieve a high-end look on a budget.
This camper, affectionately named Louise, was renovated by Casie and Igor Tomaz, who share their passion for RVing with their young kids. They bought their first camper for a family vacation in 2020, which they eventually rented out and then sold. While it wasn’t the original plan, that first camper renovation eventually led them down a path to become RV renovators (that you can now hire!).
In 2021, they moved their family from a picturesque farm in Northern Massachusetts to land in Central Texas, with plans to build their dream barndominium, and have space to work on renovation projects. Given their roots, it seems only fitting that each RV they renovate is infused with a touch of modern farmhouse charm.
(Since this post was originally featured on MountainModernLife, this husband and wife duo have settled into their new home with their four kids. They continue to renovate RVs for clients, offer design consulting, and share RV renovating tips on their Youtube and social media channels!)

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RENOVATE RV’S?
We fell in love with renovating our own RV and then jumped into renovating more. It’s so fulfilling to see the potential and see what you can create.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE this SPECIFIC travel trailer to renovate?
When we met Louise she was such a hidden gem. She had been abandoned inside a storage unit and found years later.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DECORATING STYLE?
Farmhouse modern
WAS this travel trailer renovation INSPIRED BY ANYTHING OR ANYONE SPECIFIC?
We had a style in mind and then pulled ideas from other inspirations and really wanted to incorporate a River table.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF INTERIOR DESIGN?
Pushing the limits of what we’ve tried before.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO SOURCE PRODUCTS AND DECOR?
Truthfully Amazon has so much of what we love but we try to make it ourselves.
WHAT PROJECT MADE THE MOST DIFFERENCE?
The epoxy shower really gave her a pop.
WHAT WAS MOST CHALLENGING ABOUT THIS CAMPER REMODEL?
We really tried to be creative on so many aspects. We cut our own floor, built the River table and legs, poured an epoxy shower, cut the bunk bed wall.
“It’s crazy how much of a difference small things make. This RV does not have a slide out so we wanted to make it “feel” bigger. We removed a wall and made sliders for the bedroom and took out the traditional dinette for the bar top.”

“How to DIY an epoxy countertop and shower walls: First we took the shower completely out to be able to lower the shower down. We used the original countertop as a tracer for our MDX countertop. Pour the epoxy, we use @superclearepoxy with @eyecandypigments for the pops of color.”
