After the pandemic hit, Nick and Alyssa Cross made some lifestyle changes that led them to buy an RV and take trips with their three girls. They enjoyed renovating that RV so much they decided to buy another one to transform, which we are touring today.
This fifth wheel, a 2004 Holiday Rambler Alumascape, has been fully renovated and includes mid-century modern touches throughout and an incredible shower transformation!

What inspired you to renovate RV’s?
Like so many, the lockdown in 2020 brought about change for our family. Nick decided to quit his job and become a stay at home dad, while Alyssa continued as a Real Estate agent. With three little girls, we were antsy to travel, so we bought a fifth wheel that needed some work and went to town. We had a blast bringing life to a quality RV that just needed some vision. We then traveled in that RV on and off for the following two years and decided it was time to do another, so here we are 🙂
What made you choose this specific RV to remodel?
We love the Monaco overarching brand as their RVs are high quality. This specific RV was always stored indoors, which was also a huge plus. The kitchen layout challenged us as we reconfigured the layout, but overall we instantly had a vision for what it could become.
What are your favorite places to source products and decor?
Amazon, Target, Ikea, Work Market!
Where did you get your kitchen backsplash and countertop?
The kitchen backsplash is peel and stick stone that Tic Tac Tiles recently put out (available on Amazon). The kitchen counters are the Ekbacken Ikea laminate in matte black.

What was most challenging about this renovation?
One for him- one for her! Him – the kitchen reconfiguration. We removed the upper cabinets and cut off multiple inches on one side of the cabinets so they would sit flush and give significantly more counter space. Her – the shower tile. Trying to accomplish a herringbone pattern on a not straight wall was a challenge, to say the least.
